Bible 101

God makes everything perfect but delegates control of earth to Man.

Man chooses to follow the Devil's lead and develops a taste for apple crumble.

God takes a hands off approach and watches mankind go down the toilet.

God is mightily miffed and sends a flood, the old Noah's ark thing.

The whole sorry tale starts again so God gives Moses the Law to see if obeying a few rules will work.

It doesn't.

Man is rotten to the core and any just alien would simply zap us on sight.

God comes in the form of a man (Jesus).

He takes the punishment for all sin, yours, mine, Hitler's.

Just to prove he is the real deal, he defeats Death.

He promises the Holy Spirit to those who will believe.

He keeps his promise which implies that he really did rise from death because dead folk tend to have difficulty keeping promises.

The Bible gives us the way to avoid Hell, simply trust Jesus and hand over your free will to him.

What have you got to lose?

Blessings

John

Further reading.

For the Bible's own summary read Acts chapter 7 where Steven, the first Christian to be martyred, gives his account of the Old Testament. Then read Mark's gospel, followed by Paul's letter to the Romans.
